The Giant Race

On Sat morning, we had our life insurance exam. Then we cleaned the house and took a walk to AT&T Park to pick up our stuff for the Giant 5K since they weren't handing out anything the day of the race. We got tshirts, numbers, bobbleheads, a rally rag (orange towel to wave at the game), and a photo with the World Series trophies.

Then we ordered Chinese food, packed blankets, and caught the train to Dolores Park in the Mission. They were showing Princess Bride. We met up with a friend of mine there who'd staked out a spot early. Right as the movie started, the screen tipped over, which was hilarious. And then the movie froze on the part where the old lady is saying "Boo! Boo!" to Princess Buttercup (see Instagram photo! lol). That was probably the funniest part it could have paused on. Everyone was yelling "Boo! Boo!" Eventually they got it going again. Gabe had never seen the movie all the way threw. Can you believe it? I love that movie!

On Sun, we did the Giant 5K. Gabe was proud of his 9m49s mile pace. I walked with Charlene. We didn't walk the entire course, because she's only 5 weeks from her due date and has already started having contractions that are 15min apart. After the race, we got medals, and Safeway handed out reusable grocery bags, bagels, apples, and bananas. Gabe and I took pics in front of home plate, and then we went to Pete's Tavern to celebrate with margaritas (for Gabe, Clint, and Clint's cousin) and water (me) and ginger ale (Charlene). haha!

Then Gabe and I picked up a zipcar and drove 45min to Pleasanton, which is a suburb in the East Bay. We had a BBQ at Gabe's old coworker from EY's place, Drew, his wife, and their two boys (2 and 5). There was another couple that just moved to Pleasanton from a suburb south of SF that had a boy and girl (6 and 4). The kids were a lot of fun. The other couples were definitely trying to sell us on living in Pleasanton!

Baby has been pretty active lately. Definitely kicking a lot during Princess Bride, so I guess it likes that movie. lol! I'm at 22 wks today. I've kept up with walking and yoga, but I haven't been able to do the strength training video the last 2 wks. My body just feels tired, and I figure now is the time to listen to it and not try to push through things. But I definitely want to stay strong enough to push this sucker out! haha
